Hello! It’s my turn in the Kitty Bee Designs‘ Spotlight again and I’ve created a fun card, using Kitty Bee‘s Painter Bunny and lots of color.

I started off by printing the Painter Bunny onto XPress-it blending card. I extended the grass line all the way across the panel with a Chameleon black detail pen and colored the Painter Bunny with Chameleon Pens. I finished off by adding a little extra contrast with Chameleon Pencils. I fussy cut around the top half of the image and trimmed the lower half down to fit onto a 5″×7″ card.

While printing, I also printed a piece of black and white diagonally striped patterned paper from a black and white stripe digital paper set. I trimmed it down to 4.75″×6.75″ and mounted it onto a slightly larger piece of black cardstock, before mounting them onto the card base.

I then set to work die cutting some paint splatters with two different die sets, the larger set from Frantic Stamper called Paint Splats , while the smaller splatters are a generic set. I cut seven splatters in primary colored cardstock and added white gel pen to the outer edges to resemble light reflecting from wet paint. I arranged them on my background panel and glued them into place with some Ranger Multi Medium Matte Adhesive. I then added the Painter Bunny to the bottom of the card with foam tape.

For a sentiment, I decided to keep to the primary color theme and used Concord and 9th All About You Die Set to cut the word “you” from yellow and black cardstock backed with some double sided adhesive. I also die cut a small banner, using a die from the My Favorite Things Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips Set. I then stamped the rest of the greeting, using a partial sentiment from the My Favorite Things All About You Stamp set. I stamped it with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with yellow Ranger Embossing Powder. I glued the “You” die cut into place and added the banner, mounted on some foam tape above the “You” word die, centering in the middle of the card.

I have been practicing this craft since 2004 and am self taught, only learning from published lessons. I have found this has stopped me learning others' bad habits and I often find economical ways to achieve my results. I've found that primarily making cards gives me a constant supply of projects to complete and giving them as part of a gift is always well received. The only downside to it all? I dare not buy a card for anyone now, they would be devistated and, quite possibly insulted. But I take that as a compliment.
