Hello, and Merry Christmas! Even though it’s Christmas, I’m still taking part in another Crafty Christmas Club Blog Hop. What better day to be joining?

This card was one of my last minute makes for this season and I used the inner dies from the Sue Wilson Mosaic Border Background Die Set. I use the outer dies a lot but I’ve never used the main feature in a project, until now.

I simply added some wide double sided tape to the back of a black piece of cardstock and die cut it, centering the innermost dies on a single piece. I also cut a white piece of card as a backing for the intricate centre and glued the two pieces together to create my topper.

Once the topper was complete, I cut two pieces of white cardstock, using the outermost die of the Sue Wilson die set. I simply scored one edge and glued them together to make a hinged card base. Instead of using the mosaic part of the Sue Wilson die set, I decided to use some black diagonal striped patterned paper I had printed myself. I had bought this digital paper pack quite some time ago and thought it was perfect for a simple decorative border. I always think a patterned paper needs to be framed in some way, so I added the printed paper to a black. matting layer that was just one eighth inch larger, to give a one sixteenth inch border all round. I then added this to the card base and glued the feature panel directly on top.

To finish off,I stamped a greeting in black, using the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas stamp set onto a die cut tag that was cut using the Neat and Tangled Skinny Strips Die Set. I glued that into place and drew a dot at either end of the strip as a tiny brad. Thanks so much for spending time with me today, I look forward to next time. 😊
