July see the first of my Christmas cards made for 2020, and the first time I’ve joined in with the Crafty Christmas Club Blog Hop!

My card uses the Simon Says Stamps Ring Wreath die to create the main feature of my card. I die cut it in white three times from plain white cardstock backed with wide double sided adhesive tape. I also traced around a negative space leftover and cut that layer by hand.

I added the first of my three die cuts to the hand cut background piece and coloured each circle with four different greens and three different red alcohol markers. I didn’t need to be too careful with my markers and it didn’t matter if the marker got on the die cut because the bottom layer was going to be covered by the other two ring wreath die cuts when I stacked them on top.

Once all the circles were well coloured, I went over each of them with my Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Sparkle Pen and applied a liberal amount of of the sparkle solution. I then stacked the other two die cuts over the top of the first and filled each circle with Glossy Accents. This not only gave each circle a faux glass ball look, it also refracts the light so the glitter pen is easily visible at any angle. I then let the whole wreath dry overnight before I finished the card

The following day, I added the wreath to a plain 5″×7″ card base and added a bright red bow, gluing it into place with Ranger Multi Medium Matte Adhesive and clamped it while it dried with a pair of tweezers.

I then turned my attention to a sentiment. I decided to use the Impressions Obsession Merry Christmas Flourish die to again cut three die cuts from plain white cardstock. And again, the cardstock was backed with wide double sided adhesive tape. I stacked the three die cuts on top of each other and glued them to the bottom section of the card base. I decided to round the card base’s corners with a corner punch to finish off. I thought the rounded corners matched in much better with the rest of the features compared to the square cut the cards usually have. Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest differences!

I've found that primarily making cards gives me a constant supply of projects to complete and giving them as part of a gift is always well received. The only downside to it all? I dare not buy a card for anyone now, they would be devistated and, quite possibly insulted. But I take that as a compliment.
