Hello! I’m sponsoring the latest Creative Fingers Challenge and three of my kits are up for grabs, and you can see my entire range here.

Some of you may wonder why I chose the title of this post. If any of you actually own one of these birds, you’ll know they’re a stunning bird to look at but they are probably one of the most aggressive parrots alive. They are absolute demons that will screech at you and bite your arm off before you get the chance to get near them! Saying “No biting” and “oh, shut up!” is commonly heard in my house. And, they’re bossy! They rarely submit, meaning arguments are also very common. They just don’t know when to back down! I’m just glad mine was given to me and I didn’t have to pay for the slow and gradual deterioration of my hearing, because I’d be pretty cranky if I had paid good money to have this species as my companion.😂

Anyway, enough of that rant. My inspiration uses the Australian Birds Series Rainbow Lorikeets Topper Sheets with a sheet of my Fresh Foliage Patterned Paper in the background. These topper sheets come with a frame shape that can be die cut using a nesting die. I simply printed the entire sheet out and used a slightly larger circle die to cut the base layer out. Rather than just leaving the border plain, I found an old, scalloped circle frame die in my stash and cut it from some matching green cardstock I had printed to add over the top of my die cut print. I simply glued the scalloped border to my lorikeet image and set it aside to fully dry.

I then printed the foliage sheet with a green border and die cut the piece with one of the Sue Wilson Pierced Rectangle dies and added it straight onto a 5″×7″ card base. I added double sided foam tape to the back of my topper and glued it into place. I also die cut my printed sentiment and a backing frame, glued them together and added that to the bottom third of the card. With that, I was done!

I hope you can stop by the Creative Fingers Challenge page to see what the rest of the team did with my sets. You may even have time to add an entry or two! Thanks so much for spending time with me today, I look forward to next time! 😊
