Hello! Today I’m sharing my fourteenth card in my Personal Christmas Card Challenge, a challenge to see how many different ways I can use a seasonal looking background to create my Christmas cards.
This card uses the Enchanted Garden Stamp set by Apple Blossom that was available with a magazine quite some time ago. This is yet another piece in my stash that I’d never got around to using. I also used the tree stamps from the My Favorite Things Beast Friends Stamp Set used in card 13 of my challenge. I created the one layer scene using the masking technique I explain in this earlier post of mine.
Once I’d stamped the scene, I coloured everything with alcohol markers and fussy cut along the upper area of the scene. I then die cut the remaining three edges as well as a thin white frame using The Ton’s Pierced Nested Slimline Die Set.
To incorporate my Personal Challenge’s background die, I inked a piece of white cardstock with Peacock Feathers and Speckled Egg Distress inks and blended them using my DIY Metallic Cardstock technique. Once dry, I die cut the panel with the Time For Tea Designs Nordic Star Slimline Die and glued it behind the thin white frame. I then added the framed piece directly to a 3.5″×8.5″ card base. I added lots of foam tape behind the gnome panel and glued it into place above the framed die cut, making sure all the edges lined up evenly.
