Hello! Today I’m sharing my thirteenth card in my Personal Christmas Card Challenge, a challenge to see how many different ways I can use a seasonal looking background to create my Christmas cards.

For this card, I’ve stamped and coloured the yeti monsters from the My Favorite Things Beast Friends Stamp Set (retired) and the trees from the My Favorite Things Jingle All The Way Stamp Set. I fussy cut the images and set them aside while I completed the background.

I die cut a mountain range panel, using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Mountain Border die set, partially die cutting the panel in two parts to extend the smaller dies across the slimline length. I then inked the peaks with some Speckled Egg Distress Oxide and die cut the panel to size using an old stitched edge rectangular nesting die set and added the snow caps. I then stamped the greeting, using the Speckled Egg Oxide.

While I had the stitched Rectangle die set out, I taped two together and die cut a thin white frame to add behind the snow capped mountains, so I could continue the stitched edging all the way around the card. I then inked a piece of white cardstock with some Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink and blended it out to nothing using my DIY Metallic Cardstock technique. Once dry, I die cut it with theTime For Tea Designs Nordic Star Slimline Die, the feature of my Personal Christmas Card Challenge and glued the white frame into place.

I decided to make a slightly larger than normal slimline card, creating a 4.5″×8.5″ card base so there would be plenty of room for both the sky and foreground to fit in a balanced way. I added the background layers and spent a little time arranging my yeti images. Once I was happy, added a little more Oxide where the pieces would sit as shadowing and glued them all into place, adding the final yeti and the closest presents with some foam tape.
