Hello Every year, over on Creative Fingers Challenge, we say a special thank you to our sponsors. This year, I get to say a special thank you to fellow design team member and artist, Hilde from Tindaloo. Along with being a lovely person, she is a unique artist and a friend.
For my inspiration, I chose to use two images from the Tindaloo range to create a simple thank you card. I added the Doodle Flower 2 to a pastel shade digital “paint pour” like background from The Hungry Jpeg. I then added a black and violet border in Photoshop and saved the file as a 4.75″×6.75″ jpeg image.
I then opened the image in my free Avery Design and Print Software, along with the Tindaloo Flutterby Butterfly image. I sized the Butterfly to fit in with my flower background and moved it to a separate area on the screen so it would print separately from the background. I prefer to print using this software because it’s the best I’ve found for high resolution printing and makes all my printouts look as professional as they possibly can.
I added a simple thank you greeting on the lower area of the background and printed it, along with the Butterfly onto XPress-it Blending Cardstock, colouring the flower and the Butterfly by hand with Chameleon Pens. I finished off the colouring by adding some white gel pen highlights. With these images being of a doodle or Zentangle style, adding white doodles myself matched in well, something that doesn’t always work all that well with more traditional images.
I fussy cut the Butterfly and trimmed the background panel down to fit directly onto a 5″×7″ card base. I rolled the Butterfly wings over my finger to shape them and added foam tape beneath them to secure them in place. To finish off, I decided to doodle white dots around the black border to tie the entire design together. Thanks so much for spending time with me today, I look forward to next time! 😊
