Hello! Today I’m with Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge for some mid challenge inspiration. I’m sharing a card I’ve made with the Giraffes On Holidays Digital Stamp Pack from The Paper Shelter.

As it’s almost Valentine’s Day, I wanted to create something that would be a great card for someone special. But, I also wanted to show that this card could also be used as a great design to congratulate a couple, just by altering the sentiment.

I started this card by printing the Giraffes and a backing patterned paper with a laser printer onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I carried the giraffe theme over to the paper by printing from a digital giraffe patterned paper pack by ColorYourWay on Etsy.

Once printed, I laid a piece of gold Deco Foil Transfer sheet onto the trimmed patterned paper and ran it through my laminator. This gave me a reflective gold giraffe print that, I thought, would really give a classy look to the whole card. I then ran a gold leafing pen around the edges and set it aside to dry properly. I think this gave me a more finished look to the single layer background. Once the leafing had dried, I glued the whole panel to a 5″×7″ card base.

I colored the giraffes with my Chameleon Pens and die cut them out with a generic double stitched, rounded corner rectangle die. I added foam tape to the back of the panel and adhered it to my foiled background panel.

I also die cut a matching double stitched tag, using the smaller die from the generic rounded corners rectangle die set to use as a sentiment tag. As I was making a nondescript couples congratulations card, I added a simple “Congratulations” Peel-Off sticker to the tag.

To embellish the card a little more, I die cut several small hearts and two interlinked hearts from gold mirror board to add as faux brads. Using mirror board and the gold peel off sticker kept the shine of all the gold consistent across all of the card.

I added a piece of crocheted lace ribbon to the bottom section of the card and added my sentiment tag on top, finishing off by gluing the last of the die cut hearts in place with Ranger Multi Medium Matte Adhesive to make sure everything would stick well to the crochet.

While giraffes aren’t the usual choice for a couples card, I think these two give a comical spin on the best wishes attached to this card. It could be a great card for two very tall people perhaps? 😉

Thanks so much for spending time with me today. I look forward to next time…😊
