Hello! I’m with Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge #107 mid inspiration today and this time it’s a color challenge.

Considering the time of year it is, I decided to make a Christmas card with the autumn colors and I surprised myself by actually incorporating all the colors, mostly in my coloring of this stunningly sweet digi image from My Besties Digital Stamps called The Night Before Christmas.

As usual, I did all my sizing and printing using the free Avery Design and Print Software. I love the great quality of the print it gives, even when printing patterned papers. I think it’s just the best program for a card maker.

I used a few different brands of alcohol markers, including generics, with my Chameleon Pens to color the image. I die cut the image out with Sue Wilson’s Noble Pierced Rectangles die set and finished off by inking the edges with Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink and a Inkylicious ink duster.

Keeping to the challenge colors, I found another great digital paper from Harper Finch Designs. The “Woodsy” patterned paper pack had just the perfect colors for this challenge. I printed just the right amount onto cardstock and cut it to fit a 5″×7″ card base, again using Sue Wilson’s Noble Pierced Rectangles die set. I also die cut a Christmas sentiment from the same plaid paper, using Paper Smooches Merry Christmas word die and used Ranger Multi Medium Matte Adhesive to stick it into place.

I glued both panels to my card base and added different sized hand punched snowflakes around the edges. To add a little more interest, I added drops of Tsukineko Clear Shimmer Pico Embellisher to the tree baubles and Tsukineko Wedding Dress Pico Embellisher on and around the flakes. I think these drops finished off the snowflakes beautifully.

This has been another card that I’ve been able to create with a few digital files and some quickly made embellishments. Being able to resource the digital resources quickly online is such a great, efficient way to make cards, especially when there’s so many cards to make at this time of year.

Thanks so much for spending time with me today. I look forward to next time…😊
